Group: High School and University Students Language: English (Chinese cultural facilitation included) Cities and routing may be adjusted based on international flight availability and educational focus. ________________________________________ Program Concept This 2-week immersion program introduces students from Switzerland and Germany to modern China through technology, cities, and cultural foundations. The program is structured around three core cities, each representing a key dimension of China today, while allowing flexibility in routing and entry points. ________________________________________ Core Cities & Learning Focus Beijing – Capital & Cultural Center As China’s capital and one of its most important cultural centers, Beijing offers insight into the historical continuity, cultural heritage, and identity of Chinese civilization. Students explore how ancient traditions, arts, philosophy, and contemporary urban life coexist in today’s China. Shanghai – Global China & Innovation Shanghai represents China’s most international metropolis and global interface. Learning focuses on urban planning, globalization, science and technology museums, and university environments, helping students understand China within a global economic and cultural context. Shenzhen – Technology & Future Industries Shenzhen is China’s leading center for technology and innovation. Students engage with themes such as digital civilization, artificial intelligence, innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship, and sustainable future industries, gaining first-hand exposure to China’s forward-looking development model. ________________________________________ Optional Cultural Extension Chengdu – Ancient Capital & Cultural Continuity With over 5,000 years of continuous civilization, Chengdu is one of China’s most important ancient cultural centers. This extension allows students to explore traditional culture, ancient engineering and systems thinking, ecological awareness, and a balanced lifestyle, offering a deeper historical and cultural perspective alongside modern development. ________________________________________ Program Philosophy By combining Beijing’s cultural depth, Shanghai’s global outlook, Shenzhen’s technological dynamism, and the optional ancient cultural foundation of Chengdu, the program presents China as a multi-layered civilization, shaped by both deep history and rapid innovation.
