What the UBS Residential Attractiveness Indicator 2026 Reveals About Eastern Switzerland

UBS recently published its Residential Attractiveness Indicator 2026, analysing 38 measurable factors across more than 2,000 Swiss municipalities.

The study examines three main areas: infrastructure and accessibility, leisure and quality of life, and living costs. It divides Switzerland into ten functional residential and employment regions and evaluates conditions for families in three income groups.

The UBS study evaluates three family profiles based on different financial circumstances:

• Lower-income household: annual gross income of CHF 85,000

• Middle-income household: annual gross income of CHF 150,000

• Higher-income household: annual gross income of CHF 300,000
